Vegas, Baby!
And the Pi Reunion (July '00)

As an MIT Geek, I was not at all shocked to find out that we were having a Pi Reunion (3.14 years after graduation). But I was completely excited to hear that it would be in the greatest tacky place in the world, Las Vegas! So I booked a spot for me and Jared, bought tickets for Cirque Du Soleil, and got myself ready. A few days before we left I found out that Penn and Teller were playing. Yeah, baby! So we went, we saw great shows, we did alot of sweating (it was 118 degrees every day), and we did a bit of video gambling. Remind me never to go there in the summer again, but Vegas was fun and so was the trip.

Okay, plane gets into LV at 7:00 and P&T show starts at 9:00. Eep! We ran around, got checked in, picked up the tickets (even though MGM Grand has no will call line!), and grabbed our seats. The show was fantastic. Penn's ranting reminded me so much of my good friends' views on life that I felt like I knew him. Not only that but the tricks were fantastic and often funny. Damn, I could figure everything out (possibly) except that damned Magic Bullet! So anyway, after the show they stood outside and since I don't really believe in autographs, I got pictures. Wow, I've never felt so short (Penn's 6'6"). But Penn was a sweetheart and I was so glad I got to get this photo!

And here's me and Teller. He seemed a bit more frazzled than Penn but it might have been because he had people 360degrees around him. Still, he signed everybody's tickets and stood still for this picture with me. And yes, he talks, just not on stage.
Here's Jared with the wonderful Adams Family slots that won him a good bit of money, even though it's just a nickel machine. And you get to hear great sound clips from the old TV show, so it's pretty fun even if you don't win. Plus all of the spooky decorations and the big Uncle Fester or Lurch head on top make it even more fun. Goth Slots!
On Friday, when everyone else got in for the reunion, Meghan, Jeremy, Jared and I went off to dinner. Here's Meghan and Jeremy in from of the Venetian.
Here's a shot of the Eiffel tower at The Paris. Pretty cool.
We spent a good bit of time at the Paris or walking by it. Here's Jared underneath the tower.

And here's me across the street from Paris. I was attempting an Audrey Hepburn thing but I don't think it worked very well.
